The state of Louisiana and its judical system includes 64 parishes (counties), 7 Supreme Court Districts, 5 Circuit Courts of Appeal, 48 judicial districts (including family and juvenile courts), and over 50 city and parish courts. Louisiana is also part of the Untied States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, along with Mississippi and Texas.
